Will my guests fit?

A room that “holds 150” might seat 110 for dinner, or fewer once there is a dance floor. Say how many guests you expect and how they’ll be set up, and I’ll do the space math.

Use the room’s length and width if you have them. If all you have is the venue’s own capacity figure, that works too, just less precisely.

What this assumes

  • This is a planning guide, not a safety check. The most people a room may legally hold is set by the local fire authority, not by this arithmetic — ask the venue for its approved (posted) occupant load.

Keep this room

Add a length and a width and this room can be kept and reused. A capacity figure on its own is an answer about one evening, not a room.
